What is Cold Water Therapy?

A form of cryotherapy, cold water therapy is an age old practice that involves exposing your body to cold temperatures. One common method involves submerging your body in ice-chilled water best known as an ‘ice- bath’.

What are the benefits?

Ice baths have gained in popularity due to a numerous health benefits associated with exposure to the cold. Evidence suggests cold water therapy is linked to increases in metabolism, quickened recovery from physical exercise, reduced inflammation, swelling and sore muscles. Benefits have also been linked to improved sleep quality, gains in focus and energy levels and increases in immune responses.

Forest Bathing at SABI.

Shinrin-Yoku is the Japanese art of healing through nature by immersing yourself in the presence of tress, the forest, the bush. The practice involves immersing your senses in the ambience of the forest to focus on your connection with and relationship to nature.
